This is the Spy Rigg trig point (313m) near Gilsland.

From Butterburn Bridge, follow the track NE, going over another bridge and through Lampert Farm. Once through the farm, pass through the first gate, but at the second turn left and follow the fence line through a gate and over the access land.

Follow this fence past two fields on the right and at the third go through the gate and again follow the fence line NE over access land.

Before reaching the woodland on the right, keep you eyes peeled on the left for an ATV track further down the slope, follow it to the left. Once on this track, it will take you north all the way to the trig.

Keep an eye out for the memorial carvings in the bolder across from the trig.

This route is 2.5km from the parking to the trig point with 90m of ascent.
